Payment & Insurance
The Pediatric Care Center currently accepts Cigna and Johns Hopkins Employee Health insurance plans. Patients with other insurance plans are welcome; if we are out of network for your plan, we will give you a universal claim form at the time of payment that you can submit to your carrier for reimbursement. Please notify us of any changes in address, telephone number or insurance so that we can give you proper documentation.
For your convenience checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted.
If you have a question about insurance or billing, or need information about your coverage, please contact our billing office at (301) 564-5887.

Why doesn’t the PCC participate with more insurances?
Our approach to insurance participation is based on our commitment to maintaining quality patient care in a warm and personal setting. In order to maintain the level of in-depth patient care on which we have built our reputation, we have made a conscious decision to take a limited number of managed care plans. By doing so, we can continue to see only a few patients per hour, rather than 6-8 or more. The extra time we are able to spend with you allows us to better meet your needs and affords us greater professional satisfaction in getting to know you and your families. Our goal at The Pediatric Care Center and The Teen and Young Adult Care Center is to remain a patient- and family-centered practice, rather than becoming the kind of high-volume, factory-style office that is unfortunately prevalent in medical care today.
What can I do if I am self-insured or part of a small business?
Certain insurance policies are more favorable than others in terms of reimbursement. Our insurance/billing coordinator, Denise Davis, can help you with more specific information about these issues. She can be reached at (301) 564-5887.
